".....The Duke Energy Children's Museum is entirely interactive, allowing children to play and explore and to learn about nature and how the world works. Almost every activity provides educational opportunities for children of all ages, while still offering areas specifically geared towards certain age groups. Since it first opened to the public in 1998, the museum has consistently been ranked among the United States' top 10 children's museums.

".....The museum is entirely one level. Elevators and escalators run from the rotunda to the lower level. The museum is open Monday--Saturday from 10 A.M. -- 5 P.M. and Sunday from 11 A.M. -- 6 P.M.. The museum is closed on the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas...."Voice guidance systems" and "touch boxes" allow the visually impaired guests to experience the museum.
