"....."The City of Cincinnati" owns Findlay Market.  It is built on land donated to the city in 1851 by the estate of General James Findlay for the specific purpose of providing space for a public market. The market is managed by a private non-profit organization, "The Corporation for Findlay Market".

Findlay Market was built in 1852, opened for business in 1855, and is on the "National Register of Historic Places".  The original structure was an open-sided shed with an iron frame.  Around 1912, the center tower was constructed, the market house was walled in and plumbing was introduced.  The market house was extensively renovated in 1973 and 1974.  It was renovated again and expanded between 2002 and 2004. Most of the original cast and wrought iron frame has been preserved.  You can become a Findlay Market merchant or vendor by contacting "Become a Merchant" or call the "The Corporation for Findlay Market" at 513-665-4839 and participate in a very powerful and unique historic setting in the City of Cincinnati. Findlay Market is located at 1801 Race Street in downtown Cincinnati near Over-the-Rhine....

The Findlay Market is open year round, Wednesday through Saturday from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M., Sundays 11 A.M.- 4 P.M.

.....Findlay market is a gathering place for people from all over the city.  It routinely attracts perhaps the most socially, economically, racially, and ethnically diverse crowds found anywhere in Cincinnati.  Findlay Market is Ohio's oldest continuous operated public market and one of Cincinnati's most cherished institutions.  The market is located just blocks from downtown in Over-the-Rhine, in a dense and historic neighborhood rich in 19th century architecture.  The market is home year-around to about two dozen indoor merchants selling meat, fish, poultry, produce, flowers, cheese, deli, and ethnic foods. On Saturdays and Sundays from April to November, the market also host a thriving farmers market, dozens of outdoor vendors, numerous street performers, and lots of special events.

"We appreciate the cooperation of all persons to individually consent to being photographed as they were in their various capacities and conducting their businesses at Findlay's Market"..."Their help is greatly appreciated"......
